“Empowering Communities in Latvia, Finland and Sweden” is an educational project offering an interdisciplinary awareness-raising workshop on democracy and a solidarity platform for the exchange of ideas among pro-democratic Russian-speaking communities in Latvia, Sweden, and Finland. Organized by three CSOs across three countries, the workshop includes 17 online seminars, collaborative group research, and in-person events in Riga, Stockholm, and Helsinki. Its goal is to strengthen democratic resilience and civic participation through accessible, high-quality education on democratic values, participation, advocacy, and the rule of law. Another important aspect of the initiative is the creation of cross-border networks among Russian-speaking experts in the Nordics. These connections will promote continued dialogue between diasporas, leading to the emergence of new projects that support active democratic citizenship, critical thinking, and inclusion.
