PN1 is the first major design collaboration between the Nordic region and Argentina in this century. Unbeknownst to many, Argentinian and Nordic design partnership has a long history: In 1920 Nordiska Kompaniet opened its’ doors in Buenos Aires and from the 1950s to 1970s, Nordic furniture companies were producing, exhibiting and selling in Argentina. With this project, we wish to re-establish this long-lost connection, bringing five young Nordic designers to the cultural metropole of South America, Buenos Aires, to collaborate with creatives from the booming design scene of the city. The outcome of the collaboration will be a collection of five design objects between the Nordic and Argentine designers and craftspeople. The collection will be exhibited in Buenos Aires, Reykjavik and Milan and supplemented by a catalogue and series of public program events. Partners include PAVILION NORDICO, Argentine Embassy in Sweden, Quick Tiny Shows and others.
