Energy supply systems with minimized environmental impact on fragile Arctic area. The project intends to address this challenge and contribute to assessment of wind energy potential, explore wind-driven power-plant operation under cold climates and develop technologies to minimize impact of snow and ice on wind turbine/wind park operations. Expert’s recommendations addressed to the future energy needs of people in the northern areas will also be provided. This project aims to develop sustainable international academic and business "ARCTIC WIND NET_work" cooperation and attract new actors to partnership, contribute towards better strategic infrastructure and utilization of good wind resources to meet the Northern areas demands in an environment-friendly way. International school on Wind Energy in cold climate will be the key event for youth involvement.
