Due to extensive challenges facing the tourism industry and given recent technological advancements, it is important to match potential digital solutions with defined challenges. To make required analysis possible we plan to categorize potential digital solutions (ex. blockchain, API, mobile/internet solutions, big data). When a systemic categorization of digital solutions is in place (potentially 12-15 categories), these must be connected with a set of challenges (categorized) of the tourism sector (overcrowding, environmental issues, decreasing profits, uncoordinated marketing). When this overview is in place, task list will be developed with prioritization, potential pilot projects and Nordic awareness initiatives.
